It sure does bolt up as expected. And has the normal lean. That manifold does poke out a long way so you'll need to use the GEN4 one.

Are there any issues with the front engine mount? As the transverse engines only technically have one engine mount and 3 gearbox mounts. The timing belt and tensioner appears to get in the way of the OEM SW20 mount. Keen to see more on the front of the engine and that mount. :)

Seems the additional tensioner mounts to 2 of the engine mount bolts.

Yes all of those things are issues. I will need an intake manifold and the front engine mount won't bolt up. You don't have a picture of the "front" engine mount on a gen4 by chance? I can't find much at all about them.
Cheers

Thinking of the fuel system. You would need to make some mods to run the Blacktop fuel rail.
https://www.sq-engineering.com/tech-art ... ion-guide/

Similar to what Mrman did with his 3VZ swap.

Run a fuel feed from the pump to an aftermarket FPR, run a return back to the OEM return hose and then a single feed to the Blacktop rail. Just need to set the pressure.

Just sticking the oe en2 fpr on the fuel rail should work fine. I'll try to fire it up this weekend and see.

Looks like it has been done before however I don't know what the pressure for the GEN2 is vs what the GEN5 needs. GEN5 may need 60psi.

I am using a link so as long as the fuel is there I can tune around it

Just a little update on the engine.. it runs.
I've only connected the bare minimum to the link to get it going and it runs pretty sweet. Using a basemap for some altezza that had a bit of a turbo and stuff, just modified the injector quantities and stuff and fired right up, Seems alright. "Launch control" works :)

I have a fwd intake manifold here as well so that will be the next wee addition.

Just had a play with the vvti. It's pretty amazing how big of an impact it has on how the engine runs..
Currently it's all quick spliced into the factory loom but soon I will start rerouting the harness to come out the right side of the engine.
Quality wiring job

I have also got a shiny red intake manifold that seems to bolt up just right. .

Good progress. I do hope this makes for an exciting NA SW20.

Engine installed

It took me way longer than expected as usual.
I have some pictures.

Going in from the bottom was also a mission so maybe its just MR2 things...

Currently there is no drivers side engine mount (just a block of wood).
Planning on maybe making the right side engine mount going off the alternator bracket?
We will see, i'm no fabricator.

The Link ECU is working out pretty well though, starts and runs okay. Sensors for days and idle control and vvt etc all seems to go well

Any updates on the engine mount? Really keen to see how it was mounted! 8)

YES!
Sorry, I sorta lost the motivation to keep posting (lost motivation to do the whole thing really)

At the moment everything is in a state of kinda put in. Some things are final but others need more time for me to do or re-do properly.

Here are some pictures of the engine mount: (sorry about the crap in the background)

I put studs in the block and sandwiched the motor mount with the factory alternator bracket: (these are frames from a video because its such a slut of a place to get into)

I don't have picture of the actual engine mount itself but its from an altezza I believe (aluminum housing with two long threaded studs at the bottom)

The studs go straight through the two holes in the top of the custom mount.

The alternator itself was insanely difficult to install. I had to lower one side of the subframe to remove the sway bar so I could fit it in the gap. Not sure if they are usually that bad..

Anyway, its in now

Oh right. I see. Makes sense.

The big alternators are hard to get in and do need the subframe lowered. It's really the only way.

The Altezza probably doesn't have the right mount from your custom one the the chassis. It's either MR2 or Celica or similar FWD 3S/5S.
