ClanFever's 2 "Lost" 2's

Post by ClanFever »

A tiny little story for the 2 "Lost" 2's of mine - I have owned 7 MR2s in total, however you can only find a build thread for 5 of them, until now

The first one could be debated whether there is even a story to tell, or whether it even counts as owning an MR2. It was a stripped shell which contained the Gen 2 3SGTE which ended up in APEXED. I first viewed the car with no intention of actually buying it, however I was then convinced by a close mate that it would be an easy swap - and the plan was actually to put it into my first MR2 (AFU). After sitting on the Turbo for a while, buying the pieces as Needed, APEXED popped up and I was then convinced (again) to use this for the swap, as the car was in much nicer condition than AFU. We stripped the car for all it was worth and scrapped it (I still have bits and pieces from stripping it to this day)

The other one has a bit more of a story, although it's not much longer. I picked it up for $900 from Upper Hutt - it was a Facebook purchase, and it was in bad shape, as bad as ME VS U is in reality. The struts were bent (at least felt like it, it would sway side to side) and it was Auto, with the Auto not feeling all that great. The engine felt down on power. But I LOVED the colour! I almost wish I kept it, however at the time, I didn't have the TIME to work on it (as you can see by the photo, how many other projects I had on the go). I didn't drive it all that much (due to how dodgy it felt, it was not road legal and I feel like I had a better car to drive I.E APEXED). Definitely way less time was ever invested in it than my other MR2s, before I swapped it (and the Pajero pictured) for a Terrano.
