Haha, I removed the amp(s) when we got the car. The rear speakers never went, the sub was blown. So I spliced the input for the amp into the output. Sound was ok at best. So rewire all together now. I will also redo power, acc & earth, but that can wait for the moment. Need to visit shop to get more cable.

Well I had a look at front speakers. One is corroded as buggery, and the other isnt far from it. So looks like two new speakers. Also took a look at tweeters, both stuffed. Massive corrosion in them, capacitors blown, so they are gone too. So will look at 6 1/2 in components to put in the front. Amazingly the wiring had already been done by previous owner. Did not know that one.

Any recommendations on components?

When I did mine they had literally turned to dust. Replaced with a set of Fussion component speakers in front which included seperate tweeters and cross over box. At $55/set they were great value and sounded good.

Has anyone put baffles in their doors, its like a foam cup for the speaker.
I am wondering if they are a good idea or not. Same with dynamat or equivalent.

I am thinking it may help with water displacement since the last set of fronts were rusted out.

The foam inserts or dynamo won’t keep the moisture out. Best to look at that issue first. Also be wary of anything that will obstruct window movement. Not a lot of room inside there:

I install a similar product to dynomat along with a little polypropylene insulation inside doors to try and keep road noise down. It was moderately successful but different tyres helped more.

I believe the moisture was from sitting outside for 13yrs.

Update. Have decided to sort out coolant system, believe it could do with an overhaul. Can't do anything while in lockdown. So took a page or two from GDII and decided to clean up the intake.

So this is where I'm at. Don't worry about the tools on the boot lid, it's going to get repainted when I can afford it.

Want to get the intake all off and prepped for paint before lockdown ends, so I can go get some paint.

Put in some mineral 10-40 with an oil flush. Run for the length of time on the bottle. Drain the oil and put fresh oil in. It's probably just because the car sat for so long

Made a start painting intake manifold.
Hard to do much with work and two kids

After

Still needs another coat or two, but I'm happy with how it's looking so far.
Also got new valve seals delivered yesterday so that will help stop some leaks. Just waiting on intake gaskets from amayama.

Still haven't got the bloody intake runners off either. So got to figure that out. I can't reach all the bolts that hold the damn thing on. FML

Need smaller tools? It's not easy to get to. I'd take everything off the lower runners first, then get in there with a 3/8th socket set.

Yes. Everything that's bolted to it. That way you have more space to move tools. I think you've seen a few reference photos in my build thread showing the runners with and without the plates. You'll see it's easier to get to the head bolts/nuts.
