After some fitment issues, I found the ends of the gas struts were too large. So I went to a local garage and got some smaller ends. Fits perfectly now, so on with more work.

Well after alot of pissing around, i decided that i would start planning on repainting my little beast. I have to do some minor body work anyway, so here is a look at what i am up to.

I have decided (obviously) to stay Red. And it will also be the right kind of red to match the vin plate.

As i get into the painting i will pop more pics up here

Well, after alot of stuffing around I finally managed to find time to finish the intake. So I fire the car up, and in runs. But I noticed that the damn car was idling at 400-500rpm at cold, then went up to 1200rpm at hot. WTF.

Went trolling through GDII's ride post and found the picture of the vac canister, found out that one vac hose had popped off, and I had mixed one up with another. So it was both backwards and leaking haha.

Pulled all the hoses off, and replaced them according to Phill's pic, and Ta-Da, back to what it should be. High when cold and low when hot. Yahoo!!

Which means that my list of things to finish sits at the following:

Replace both engine and trans fluids.
Adjust handbrake.
Install covers under car.
Replace all four tyres.
And finish bodywork and paint.

Then Rego time.

Ok, quick update. Filled in aerial hole in wing cap. And painted both wing caps.

I also finished preparing the roof, so that is ready for priming tomorrow (depending on weather).

I had also purchased some new clips for the front bumper. They are the ones at the top of airdam, I found out the my car only had 2 out of 8. :? So the lower half of the bumper was just hanging there. I could lift it up when I pushed the top of airdam up. So eventually got them in. Now bumper sits level and not on the piss.
Bloody bolt that holds spotlight in broke when I took them out months ago. Finding it very hard to remove it. Not much space in there.

Long time since update. Had a long issue with fuel gauge. Damn thing was stuck on empty. Bear in mind that this is the replacement one since tank was shot.

So took it out, and it was covered in white crap. Put it on my meter to check resistance and it was WAY out. So I cleaned it up a great deal, constantly checking resistance after each clean. And the numbers were slowly dropping.
After a while I plugged it back into the car to check its progress and it was starting to work. So yay.

This morning I put back into tank, plugged everything back in etc. And viola it works, whacked 10L petrol in and the needle stopped just under 1/4 full.
I will get more fuel in it later today and see what happens. If it is "fixed" I will finish buttoning up the panels under the car and get it ready for VTNZ next week.

Wish me luck haha
