GDII's 1990 G-Limited

New oil cooler O ring. Part number 9030-58002. PNC 15710B. Nothing special about this one, just replacing it because the other one is 24 years old.

A replacement O ring for the oil pressure regulator. It doesn't come as part of the main seal kit so it has to be bought seperate.

Part number 96721-24061. It goes onto part 15310H.

This plug goes on the head to block off the machined part for when they bored out the cam journals. It requires sealant and has a locating pin. Then the rubber valve cover gasket has something flat to seal against.

It is made of hard plastic. Why did I buy a new one? I figured it was made from rubber and had just gone hard. Nope. Anyway, my old one went to another MR2 owner for his build so not a waste.

OEM exhaust manifold to head locking nuts. Part number 90179-10128. There are 7 of these for the GEN4 3SGTE from 1997 until June 2002. Then from June 2002 to end of ST215 production 3 months later there were 8. Why? Because the manifold design changed to attempt to combat the warped flange problem by adding in an extra mounting point. This didn't really help too much even though the new manifold flowed on to the ST246. I've had this new mounting point added but also had the 2mm of out of flat removed to hopefully stop exhaust leaks. It also appears that there is a collar for each stud on the later model manifold.

New exhaust manifold studs. Part number 90116-10169. Why, because I can! Only problem is these heads are well known for stripping the threads so I either need good luck, to be careful or to fix any that do get damaged. Helicoils are easier to get but I feel Timesert are a better fix.

Turbo to downpipe nuts. There are 6 for this and 2 for spares. Not sure why I ordered 8. Part number 90179-10094.

New nuts for the turbo coolant feed and block off plate. Part number 94150-80630. Mine were very rusted from years of heat cycles. Time for some new ones!

New thermostat. Part number 90916-03100. Only genuine should be used as there has been too many instances of aftermarket ones failing very soon after install. Be careful when ordering as the older GEN2 thermostat is smaller, as is the O ring and water pump. They do not fit eachother. Speaking of O rings, you have to buy it separately, it doesn't come with the thermostat.

Thermostat gasket on its own, not part of the thermostat part number. Part number 16346-32010.

Definitely have! No way I'd keep track of all these parts, especially the nuts and bolts that have obscure part numbers that don't always relate to a diagram.

That's definitely a good idea. I could do that or just smash the part number into the spreadsheet to find it. I have the number and a description of what it's for.

Turbo (or in this case a GT) engine lid rain guard screws. 12 of them! Part number 90159-45007.
I need to replace the old ones on the lid I got when I swap it out for the G-LIMITED lid.

New cam belt! Or timing belt if that's what you want to call it. Part number 13568-79315.

It comes with a sticker to record the date and mileage it was replaced. Either an English version or a Japanese version. It also has a protective film to place over the sticker to prevent the pen from running off. This can be placed on the engine timing belt cover or the chassis somewhere. I'll put this on the cover for mine and use the Japanese one with the correct dating method. Quite different to the English dates.

The belt also has markings to assist in getting the timing correct. 2 lines, a solid and a dashed for the crank pulley and 2 lines, 1 each for cams. Unlike the GEN2 with no markings, it makes it easier. Also doing this outside of the car makes it very simple.
