I have been doing some thinking about the front lip. When I get it back I was thinking of painting it black to match the rest of the black trim around the bottom of the car. I have colour matched paint for it but for some reason when I applied it to other parts of the car it went matte. And so does the clearcoat that I have put over it. It is possible it was too cold when I did some touch ups as the clearcoat comes up fine when I have applied it in direct sun on a hot day.

What are people's opinions on painting it black or red?

Black makes it look much better imo. Red would be cleaner but I like the colour breakup of the bottom trims. I've just repainted the bottom of my car black too. Looks so mint now

I found some photos of a red SW20 that had a prominent red and black theme. I like the black trim around the bottom and half way down. I can always go red later if I want to. The front lip is the same as on your green SW TVIS.

Are you happy with the RSR springs? I have been offered some. I like your ride height, any problems with it being to low or too hard etc? What shocks are you using?

I am not 100% sure on the exact model of springs as they made a few types. But they are deffinitly Ti2000 down springs.

I am happy with the ride height. It's low but not too bad. With no front lip I have still hit the front on driveways but that's because I drove too fast and straight on.

For spring stiffness they can be hard on big bumps as expected from progressive rate springs. I was a bit concerned about it being too hard as driving at 50kph can be relatively bumpy but when I took it out on 100kph roads I stopped careing about that as the car is way more stable and can go around corners faster with less effort. Car sits flatter and squats way less on gear changes and braking. The springs get the power to the road better when it spins a wheel.

As for shocks they are unknown but seemed in good condition when I was changing the springs. They appear to be stock shock. Still have good rebound but ideally I would like much stiffer shocks as the springs seem to be too stiff for them. Stock Bilsteins would be a good upgrade but I would rather go with Koni Yellow adjustables.

Overall i am happy with the performance gains with spirited driving and open road cruising.

I haven't driven any cars with really stiff springs so I am not sure how it compares to other springs or a car with good shock and spring setup.

Very effective photos. Need to ditch the stick and get yourself a gas prop rod. Has to be one of the best mods ever.

Yeah I have been thinking about that mod for a very long time. I haven't really looked into where to get the correct length one or who makes brackets for them. I used to have all the tools to make the brackets at my parents but I don't live there anymore.

Post up a WTB thread as there use to be a couple FS. Richard from ChCh had the best design for the brackets in stainless and could buy the struts for $50/pair in stainless as well. This is what the combo looks like.



All up it cost approx $60 for a set. Black was cheaper yet.

I can probably get my brother to make brackets for me if I give him drawings for them which I can do myself. Then I can find some gas strut(s). I will only need one? Two seems a bit over kill for such a light engine lid.
