Would 245/50/14's fit my SW20?

Post by graphite »

I have a drag day coming up in 12 days, I only have the stock 14 inch wheels on my SW20, so looking for ways to gain traction off the line.

My idea is to use:

But the question is, will they fit?

They should fit. Maybe a bit close to the struts but I don't think it will be an issue.
This is a common tire and wheel size vs what you are asking.

You can get some wide rubber on the back of an SW20.
I know this fits

The only concern is the 245 on a 7" rim. But looking at the LVVTA wheel and tire compatibility guide it's permitted. 6.5-9.5. I know you aren't going for cert but it's a good guide to follow.

I think they would be more suited to a American muscle car

Eagers are 1980s tyre tech. They will not provide you with $500 worth of better launch.

I got 1.9 60fts with the stock 205s.

Cool, think i'll just leave the tyres alone, since I want to get bigger wheels sometime anyway, a bit silly spending that much on something I won't keep for long at all..
