Hi Jan

The Japanese MR2 didn't come with a factory alarm so it will have been fitted later. Do you know what brand it is?

Some alarms will fire when the battery is disconnected because of a backup battery, this will happen if the battery degrades while still connected as well as the system sees the voltage drop.

Is the battery all good and charged?
