You can use 205/50R15 or 195/55R15. 195 is a bit taller (diameter) while 205 is closer to the 185/60R14.

The dowel is on the inside of the wheel where the face mounts to the hub/brake rotor. This has been put there to stop you mounting the rear wheel to the front of the car as they are staggered unlike the AW11. Same thing as the SW20.
The rear rotors/hubs of the ZZW30 and SW20 have extra holes in them to allow this dowel to pass through and mount up. The fronts do not so you can't fit it without breaking it off.

Thank you for that. So "Breaking it off" easy enough to do?

Actually based on mknz comment you don't need to break it off. He said a 6mm socket or locking pliers/vice grips will work. I only said breaking it off due to the set of wheels on my SW20 having them broken off rather than removed. I just have that image stuck in my head.

TBH I sort of skipped past that part too.

If you buy new tyres for them then they will balance them when they mount the new tyre. If you use the tyres you buy wheels with, they may or may not be balanced 100%. I can't tell as they are not my wheels. If you get odd vibrations or wobble in the steering it might be the case but I'd say they are fine.

From my experience 205/50/15 is the way to go, no rub, the sidewall on 003s is almost perfectly vertical on both front and rear 6/6.5" and 205 is the only width you can get in 50 in this country.

People with the 55 have had rub and I'm pretty sure they increase the diameter more than 5% which legally needs a cert.

I honestly think the MR-S 6/6.5" with 205/50/15 RE003s is the best tyre wheel combo for the AW that doesn't require real modification nor a cert and you still the get the benefit of slightly wider, great compound and the sidewall heights gives you comfort and feel.

Yeah looking at width, sidewall and overall diameter the 205 would be the better tyre. For the speedo, the 195/55R15 is 3.4% out while the 205/50R15 is 1.3% out. Nothing to worry about. RE003 are great tyres. Epic turn in and direction change response and really cheap for what they are. Just wish they made 235/40R17 for the back of the SW20.

The RE003 is arguably the best street tyre available in 15" sizes. They have tamed my Toyota Blade Master G in the wet.
