Manfeild track day 7th October
Hi all,
I'm organizing the annual track day for the Taranaki Car Club. This year we are at Manfeild on Saturday 7th October 2017.
Because I organize it I get to invite who I like, and funny enough one of those invited will always be MR2OCNZ
It will be a MSNZ permitted event, so if you already belong to a car club and have a MSNZ M grade license, your set.
But don't let it put you off if you don't have these, they aren't too much for a day license/memberships.
We will be running groups of dual car sprints, clubsport multi-car, and for those interested we are looking at clubmans racing also (more on the grid, flag drop, race!).
Entry cost is $140, and I think I may even have a free BBQ running for lunch. Will need to confirm that.
I should have the entry form up on the TCC website soon, taranakicarclub.org.nz, or just contact me here.
Regards
Garnett

Do you have to have a cage?

No, you do not need a cage.chief1eye wrote:Do you have to have a cage?
You do have to comply with MSNZ schedule A safety regs tho.
From a "I've never done a track day/MSNZ permitted event before" position, the basic requrements for a road going car (meaning its pretty good with safety stuff to start with) basically mean you have a fire extingusher mounted, a helmet that meets their regs (its a big list of helmets that do), and cotton overalls (no polycotton)

Yeah, I'm keen. Should have my M grade License by them. Other than a cage the car will be ready to run hard and comply with the required safety regs. Pencil me in and keep me posted .

Generally, if your car has a wof then you are 99% of the way there. You need a double strap fire extinguisher installed within reach of the driver. Safety regs are there to restrict full-on racecars that will never see a public road and to set a consistent baseline for safety.chief1eye wrote:Other than a cage the car will be ready to run hard and comply with the required safety regs.

Re: Manfeild track day 7th October
Yeah, thanks Jason.
It's probably a good time to remind everyone that if you intend on doing any motorsport, have a read of the MSNZ regs before purchasing anything. It sucks just purchasing a fire extinguisher or a helmet just to learn it dosent comply.
Or if it a little confusing trying to find the requirements, I'm happy to answer any questions.
