Caffeine & Classics + MR2 Nuts run 29th Oct 2017

Post by mickeyduck »

Righto folks something a teeny bit different for yas.

This month the Caffeine & Classics meet is being held on a roof-top car park at NorthWest mall.

That's just over the road from where we usually meet at Westgate. And by then we ought to have a new club banner too.

So let's meet at the C&C at NorthWest to demonstrate our club spirit and show off our cars.
 The C&C starts at 10am so let's make sure we get there no later than 9:30 am so we can park together.

Once we've had our fill of oggling other cool cars, we'll head off out past Parakai and up the south head of the Kaipara.
Up to that little lake near the end of the seal, stop for a group pic then turn around and head back.

Heading home we'll hang a left and trip out to Shelly Beach. If it's not too busy we can grab lunch there cos the burgers are epic.
If it's infested with 4x4's and fishermen we'll dd back and stop at the Macadamia Nuts Cafe for lunch instead.

It's a short, cheap but good fun run and one way or another we'll be able to grab a feed and enjoy some good company.

Meet at the roof-top car park at Countdown, NorthWest, between 9 and 9:30 am Sunday 29th October.

Your car doesn't need to be a minter (mine's not) but it does need to be WOF'd and gassed and ready for a good day out!

See you there! 8)

Just as long as that doesn't mean we'll be in for a battle with a tornado, Mike. :P

Actually now that I think about it, a tornado in Oz is actually known as a maloo (Aussie aboriginal word) so if Dorothy is coming perhaps we should keep our eyes peeled for Maloo V8 Holden utes? Not that they'd have a wallaby's chance in Eden Park of catching us through those twisties anyway. They'd either commit sideways or just run out of gas half way...

Mind you, the reigning Wizard of Oz is Shane Van Gisbergen and he's a Kiwi so that's very cool indeed. 8)

I digress...

See you at NorthWest at the C&C folks!

Rain has stopped. Time to wash and vacuum the car.

See you at the North-West Countdown roof-top car park between 9am and 9:30 for the C&C, then off on a run and a burger for lunch. :)

Thanks for coming Ivor.

And everyone else. :D

Alan, Ivor, Mike, Steve, Logan, Hayden, Ash, Gerritt and a few other chaps and chapettes all rocked up to the C&C and most of us carried on past Parakai for the run. I thoroughly enjoyed the roads as always. Yeah there were less of us in attendance than on previous occasions but that didn't stop those of us that were there from having a great time. Well I sure did anyway. Love that road. And the company was top of the line as always. Thanks guys. You all made it a great day out. :D

Might do Woodcocks next...

Thanks Mike.

Here's a couple of belated pics from the day. Smallest turnout ever for this run but that didn't stop us having a great day out with a lot of fun behind the wheel as evidenced by the grins in the standard lake-side shot.

AWesome fun and a huge thanks to everyone that came. :D

Here's to more grinning faces on the next run! Hope to see you there.
