I was keen, but keeping quite as not to jinx things. Was tinkering with a few things lately. Got it all buttoned up to find the alternator wasn't charging! (No jinxing required here!) So I am a bit happy about the postpone. Fingers crossed for next weekend!!! :D

Bring it on fellas! I'm getting a bit conservative in my old age but I'll try to keep it interesting for yas.

Paul you're not using an AW alt eh mate cos they have the voltage regulator in the boot, not on the alt...
Which is a tad odd to say the least.

Nar 3VZ alts. This was my old one...

I'm not entirely sure why the rectifier bolt broke off. I assume I left the nut loose and it's been aching through. It clearly got a bit hot!
Anyway, I got a new one from the wreckers today. Hope this survives more than 6 months! :P

I'm guessing you're right regards it arcing due to being left loose and not tightened. Seems like the most likely cause anyway.

Catcha Sunday! Rustle up a few more AW's if you can too. Let's see how much AWesomeness we can muster.

Good bye Champiros welcome Toyos :P
Well, my new wheels have NOT arrived with the importer's latest shipment so Toyo's will have to wait (for another month I'm told but I'm not holding my breath - I've been waiting on these wheels for three months already...)

In the meantime I failed WOF on rear tyres (lol) so today got a pair of Dunlop Sport Maxx. Not sure what to think. They seem rather slippery compared to the old Kumho's I had. Maybe they need a longer scrubbing in period? I only travelled 30-40 kms so far.

I bet!
But I was hoping to scrub them in and test them beforehand so I'm ready for Sunday. Because, Woodcocks Rd at moderate speed brings more frustration than joy  lol

I'm in!
Had a slight issue today when my radiator fans wouldn't work. But it's good to know if I stay above 50ks it won't overheat with no fans!
Anyway, quick fix on that and all ready for tomorrow. (Fingers crossed and knocking on wood no more bugs to work out!)
See you at Westgate around 9am :D :D

Where abouts exactly at Westgate??

We meet in the car park outside Starbucks. You'll find us mate. See you there! 8)

Updated avatar too eh Paul?

BTW if the fans are still rigged up as OEM AW, just disconnect the sensor on the lower passenger's side of the rad and one will go all the time. Not a good move in winter but works ok in summer. Makes your rad like this ---> 8)

Yeah tried that, still nothing. No power to the relay. I am pretty sure it's to do with the fact I removed the internal AC etc. But couldn't figure it out quickly today. So I have just rigged it to a switch temporarily.

Sweet, see you tomorrow!
I need another sticker for my collection!
Couldn't gather up anymore ADubs either sorry. But will be bringing a passenger.
