Yeah I dunno Mike. I'm wondering if we've had our 2 weeks of sunshine and that was summer for the year? We'll see...

I'll be there even if it's wet now that the even slower car has new tyres.

Thanks Charlie for organising another epic run with great roads ,good company and the best Pizza.

Nice to catch up with Wardey ,Ivor ,Charlie and MIchelle and Michael and great to meet Andrew (Michaels Friend) and to meet Cai and see his 87 Aw11 S/C. A really tidy car.

I had a great day and Big Red didn't miss a beat.Only run I've been on where there were more AWs than SWs

thanks heaps and I'll see you at the next one.

That was so much fun. I might have more to say about it tomorrow, but for now I'm dead tired! Great drive, great cars, great people.

Good people, roads and pizza, thanks for coming everyone. Had a blast!

Damn shame about the weather, traffic and Andrew sharing the pizza with the flowers on the roadside. He said sorry for being quiet, the migraine got to him as soon as we arrived at the pizza place.

I forgot to get a picture sorry.

Nice to hear everyone (with the likely exception of Andrew, poor soul) had a good time.

The run turned out to be more of a cruise, what with the traffic and precipitation, but the pizza was AWesome that's for sure. You'll note in my pic that half my pizza is gone already!

And as always, the day was enjoyed in the very best of company. Thanks for coming fellas! :D

Antony, where were you mate??? Next time...!!!

Forgive the fuzzy sunscreen-smudged pics but here's a couple of mine...

Best pizza joint north of the Bombays, no bull...!

Oh yeah - my speedo stopped working 6km into the trip north but it worked the entire trip back. Which was great as it meant I used about half the gas on the return journey.

Michael, that thing must have a bung temp sensor or something making it over-fuel eh mate. I can't wait until you figure it out! (I never could) But I'm glad you're enjoying it all the same. You've had that AW just over a year now! I really like those mags too mate. Nice. 8)

Right then. Next up, tripping to Tauranga on the 4th Feb. On some very lonely country back roads...

Yeah, that really needs to be figured out! Driving behind you, Michael, for hours gave me a crazy ringing in my ears from all the fumes. Unfortunately with no AC I can't just roll up the windows and turn on recirc without dying of heat exhaustion. Luckily it didn't ruin the fun of the drive for me though :)

Well if there was no traffic you wouldn't have kept up anyway  I hoped in front of you so you watch what I was doing in case that helped, I learnt a bit watching Charlie when he waited for me. Don't fixate on the person in front of you though, focus on your car and the road; classic biker advice.

I'm trying to fix it, I'm just waiting on Mike to send me a data sheet on how to remove that connector from the sensor to test it and replace it

EDIT:
It didn't help I was blowing boost away and still dumping fuel with that leak. Fixed it now.

Don't look at SWs as they generally power out more than carrying speed in

Nice photo Cai. We'll have to keep you on!

On another note we encountered a VERY nasty bump heading south on SH16 at Bridge 920 over Te Pahi Creek, Tauhoa. Felt like it tried to break my car's back!

We pay road user charges, why...??? I guess that's what you get when roading inspectors all drive large 4x4 trucks. Twats.

https://youtu.be/V8lP5pZ1YfU

I might have to revert to standard suspension again yet...
SH16_Bridge920.png
The defect has been there since at least August 2012 according to Google Maps' cameras:
SH16_Bridge920_TePahiCreek.png
So it's doubtful the roading fellas will ever fix it, unless a truck falls right through it first...

Maybe I should just build a 4x4 AW... :P
