Re: Track Day-Hamptons/Waikato. 2nd June 2018
Had a mean as day thanks team!! Must be done again.
Need to replace the front tires first though.... I only got one picture of all of us unfortunately. Due to all the excitement. It looked pretty good with all our cars parked up and the flags! I have some videos of the drags etc I'll upload over the week and post links.
Meanwhile, anyone that got video or pictures of me on the track (especially spitting flames! ) can please upload or share links etc. Happy to pass out my email also if that's easier. Hope you are all relaxing on the couch now!!

Had an awesome day today! thanks heaps to everyone who was able to make it out to hamptons, it was great meeting all of you and watch you all rip up the track. In hind sight there was actually space for cars to park even late into the day, so i guess that means we couldve all shown up at different times and still have been able to park together. They werent even checking club stickers either i dont think. Hopefully we can do it all again next year here are a few pictures i took through out the day

Re: Track Day-Hamptons/Waikato. 2nd June 2018
Thanks for the company guys it was a good day!
Had the MR-S out on the track for the first time and loved it
It's funny how pushing the car to the limit reveals details that are otherwise hidden. I was extremely happy with the car on the road but on the track I noticed a couple of things that could be improved upon.
In that long sweeping corner before the main straight the front tires would lose grip more than the rears. I didn't expect that.
Also, the difference between 3rd to 4th gear is by comparison bigger than any of the lower gears and going up hill towards the main straight a shorter 4th gear would help.
Anyhow, it was good fun

Re: Track Day-Hamptons/Waikato. 2nd June 2018
The track gives you the opportunity to really drive your car. Its just not safe or possible to do it on the road. The event format was really good. Actually having the race track sessions gave the guys who wanted to drive fast around the track to do so. I think that made it better for the cruise sessions where people were pretty well behaved. I didn't see any absolute idiots. Bring on Chrome Expression. early bird pricing still available for 2 more days so get in.

Great to see so many AWesome photos. Sounds like you all had a ton of fun.
How was the wee run down to Hamptons (Aucklanders)...? Enjoy those back roads? Or did you just cruise down the motorway?

100+ MR2OCNZ runs and counting... When going hard, good rubber's your best protection against unwanted accidents. Buy good tyres!
When you're nearing the end of the drag-strip and you have no 'chute, you may as well keep your foot to the floor... Live life. There ain't no second pass.

Hey Charlie, we missed you there.mickeyduck wrote:How was the wee run down to Hamptons (Aucklanders)...? Enjoy those back roads? Or did you just cruise down the motorway?
We started the run you provided. I added a but of a loop up Gelling by my house and down Ararimu road on to Hunua as we got stuck behind a Land Cruiser (Criusing) which gave us some space again. Then it started pissing down shortly after. We were getting tight on time. So we jumped on the motorway at Mercer for the last bit.
It was good though, obviously better if the roads were dry!
Hey Iszack got some great action shots of my car on the track. One in particular shooting a flame which would make a great poster! Could you fire it/them through to my email when you get a chance please? [email protected]
Cheers!!!
