Re: AKL run to the Lighthouse 15 April 2018
Just quick question guys - in light of the crap that's probably still all over the roads from the storm...
And the fact that next Sunday's forecast (currently) looks a LOT better...
The question is this: if we do put this off for a week and do it on Sunday 22nd, would you guys still be in?
I won't make the call until later tomorrow but I'm interested to know how that would suit...

I should be sweet for next week if it comes to that.
Also happy for just a cruze if it's dry but still a bit iffy.
And Michael, I'm not angry.... Just disappointed. Haha

Well this is a hard one to call. But at risk of tomorrow turning out to be a stunning day, I think we'll hold off until next weekend.
It's looking like it will start raining tomorrow after midday so chances are we'd find ourselves hungry for a BBQ but not wanting to stand around in the rain, and therefore go hungry (or go home) which would be a sorry thing either way. Plus the roads will still be covered in debris from Tuesday's storm. Branches, stones, mud... Never the best especially on some of the tight blind corners this route does have.
Next Sunday is looking fine but as we seem to have a lot of fronts coming through and things can change pretty fast, we'll just have to see...
But we'll put this run off until next Sunday and hope for a nice fine day.
Sorry Thomas. It will be great to catch up again though mate, maybe on the next one, cos it's a long time since we romped around Northland eh mate. That was a brilliant trip.
Anyway, let's aim for next Sunday and hope the weather turns out SWeet. I do hope the rest of you can make it. Eh Michael... (hint hint).
And remember to bring some bangers....!

All good, gives me some more time to do some maintenance and get things in order. Yes that was a fantastic trip, probably the most memorable club drive I can recall.mickeyduck wrote:Sorry Thomas. Re: AKL run to the Lighthouse now 22 April 2018
8:18am Sunday 15th and it's raining. Here's to the 22nd.
Cai better be there too, seeing as we're aiming to ensure it's "dry for Cai".
Thinking about AW's, rain and rust, I might try some of this stuff out.
Maybe even pour some down through the various drainage channels of the AW...
Mind you I'd best fix up the paintwork first.

Sure, I'll most likely be happy for a hoon next weekend! Might be one of the last before winter properly sets in, so I'd best make the most of it (if it is indeed dry!).mickeyduck wrote:Cai better be there too, seeing as we're aiming to ensure it's "dry for Cai".
