Wellington Dyno Day, Saturday 18th August

Post by ClanFever »

UPDATE: I've booked us in for 9am Saturday the 18th of August. Please PM me as I will look to take deposits to ensure numbers and book your place in the que. I don't have a number yet on what the cap is so get in now.

Hey all, wanting some numbers as Justin from TMS will kindly do us a Saturday Dyno day. $100 will get you 3 runs, to see what power you're getting - also get a torque number, fuel graph and vac/boost graph. So please post here if you'd be keen. Location is Paraparaumu, and we will probably start at 9am or so.

I will do my carib if I'm not happy with how my mr2 is performing (I can go back and get that dyno'ed another time).

If I can get a couple more expressions of interest I'll go and book a day. Probably in August

Will be of interest to see how our car compare as we are both running a Silver top bottom end
diffrent heads . ECUs might throw a wide card in the mix though.

yea. vvt vs TVIS, and 16v vs 20V. I did try to race my mate with a newly rebuilt blacktop levin, and I lost that one.. So it would be interesting to see how much the blacktop 20v gain over the bigport 16v haha.

I still need to fix my O2 sensor though since I have moved it further down the exhaust. it doesnt run ideally since its only a 1 wire.. lol. I get close to 9 AFR on full throttle, and often dips to like 8 when cold(which causes misfires). Im gonna put a heated O2 sensor soon to hopefully fix this.

Heated O2 will send the wrong signal
you need a voltage for the ECU
best put it back as close to the cylinder head as possible .

I just put a heated one I got from trade me. Works pretty well . On full throttle, it tries to keep 12.5 to 13, whereas it dips to 9 before and hovers at 11. Not sure if I got extra power from better afr, but at least, my tank will last longer now

Sorry guys Playday on Track at Manfield on the 18th, 9.00 am - 4.00pm for $140, not worried about doing a Dyno on my car as I seem to pass plenty of people on the track (including caged race cars) so I'm happy just knowing it's fast :D Enjoy your day
Cheers Gary :D

Not knocking you but when you take in the prep work, fuel, tyre wear etc that you put in before and after a Playday it adds up to more than just the entry fee :-)
and I would like to see what my car is doing power wise etc.as the engine has seen a few Km since it was put together .
