On the speedway track? How many cars on at once? Could be keen but really don't want to hurt my mr2.

Not on the track unfortunately, is a tarmac venue for us, so we use half of the speedway pits for racing area. One at a time. :)

When you're nearing the end of the drag-strip and you have no 'chute, you may as well keep your foot to the floor... Live life. There ain't no second pass.

An Ex-AW11 driver beat me in a BMW!!
Was great fun, with rain interrupting the perfect mix between slippery and drive, meant timing could get ya a good placing!

Good to see Ivor out for a play in the White MRS. You should have come out for a play Charlie!
I'll post some incar from me later on.

'twas a good day :)

Thanks again Rodney for the organisation!

The main thing I learnt, for an event like this (with a VERY tight course) is you need all the front grip you can get and probably want to reduce the rear grip to 1/2... so you can spin the cars around the cones more easily.
I had too much grip at the rear (made the mistake of letting some air out of the tires) which meant pretty much no steering as soon as I hit the gas pedal a bit harder
It made me some nana-driver run times

No worries Ivor!

Tyre pressures are a funny one when it comes to tarmac. Some like to run really high pressure (read ~50psi) or others a lot lower. Personally i was runnimg 30psi front and rear, on a higher profile tyre. It's all about how you want the car to react to your inputs. Less pressure means the tyre will roll around a lot more, and a higher pressure will allow to break traction easier. So that's a drivers preference. :)

For you first event, I wouldn't be ashamed of your times at all. ( Well look at Hendrick and Garry, both first time actually driving Flick in aggression and you beat both of them. Garry in his own car usually beats me! )

I was just as surprised as you were Rodney - although I'm sure it's all thanks to those mad skills I gained while driving the AW 8)
Amazing day, thanks for organising Rodney! Wet weather wasn't great for standing around, but it sure helped spin the back of the little BMW around those cones, it's a little underpowered in the dry...

Don't have a suitable vehicle at the mo mate but it's a work in progress.

Great to see you guys had such a hoot. I've always wanted to see more of this kinda thing in the club. Tons of fun and very valuable for anyone wanting to get to know their car better.
