Another update from the Toyota fest page:

All drivers must wear a neck brace (foam doughnut) or if you have a 4 point harness or more, you must wear a FHR (hans or similar). You need a crash helmet in good condition. A race suit is not required, you just need to wear non-flammable clothing and be fully covered from head to toe (100% cotton recommended). Covered shoes must be worn.

Hi guys, unfortunately my turbo v6 AW will be nowhere near ready.
But I've decided to take the BlackRat and just park up. Hang out and enjoy the day.
Thinking of planning a fun back country bash from BP Drury (I know some awesome roads out this way) and showing up in a convoy of MR2s.

Who's keen??

Do you have a preferred time to arrive?
As this will dictate when we meet up.

More details to come!! :D

I'm hoping to be into a back-road blat Paul. There certainly are some fun roads around there mate. Kopuku, Coalfields and Island Block are brilliant, though there is the occasional bump. Mind you they have fixed most of those now which is brilliant!

I might park the SW up next to yours then - not intending on tracking it this year as my budget's a bit tight. Money would be better spent on house repairs etc, and I want the SW's brake pads and tyres to last a while on the back-roads yet, whereas Hampton's can eat those things in a day...

Isaac will be tracking his AW so he'll probably be leaving here earlier than me so he can get to Hampton's for the briefing.

What time are you thinking of leaving Drury? 8:30am? (after meeting nearer 8:00 perhaps?) That would still get us to Hampton's in ok time (between 9:00 and 9:30 am perhaps) for a decent spot, while folk like Isaac could carry on straight down SH1 to get there for the briefing at 8:30.

If anyones interested a rather big group of us have been planning to meet at drury at 7am, leave around 7:30/7:45ish for some sick fog rolling shots or something similar, try be there by 8am to find a good spot, and set up and get ready for drivers briefing at 8:30. Me and Isaac and a few others will be driving in the same class so ill probably be meeting him there and he will just link up with us or something. Otherwise for everyone else not doing track, feel free to meet up and come at your own pace :D

I'm pretty flexible. Was just curious what those travelling a bit further wanted to do. We can meet around 8. Leave around 830. Or meet up earlier with the others if people like early mornings?

I think an earlyish meetup would be good for us spectators. But keen as to roll up as a convoy.

Well it sounds to me as if Jabeo has organised the early meet for those tracking their cars (so they can get to the briefing on time). Good on you mate.

And Paul has organised a later run through the back roads for those of us not tracking our cars. SWeet.
http://mr2.org.nz/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=15335

So in a nutshell as I understand it:

Hitting the track?
Meet at BP on SH1 Drury at 7am if you wish to join Jabeo's bunch.

Not hitting the track but want some back-road fun?
Meet at BP SH1 Drury at 8am and join Paul's group.

See you there! 8)

Just a friendly reminder that if you are driving in any event at Toyotafest you need to sign the Driver indemnity form and if you are a passenger in a car for the cruise then there is a separate form for you as well which i've linked below. Both of these would have been sent to drivers registered for the day, this is mainly for cruise passengers that dont need to register
