Raglan, Run in the new year! Sat 5th Jan 2019

Post by Mr-Paulio »

Hi guys,
looks like I will have the pleasure of the first Auckland run for the new year! (In a SW this time too!)
For those that are not out of the city, too busy with your sun, surf and batch's! :P
Please join us for a nice back country zip to Raglan and back!

Let's meet at BP Drury (As usual) at 9am. But a Saturday this time! With an aim to be on the road at 9:30.
I'm sure we can choose a nice pub in Raglan for lunch and a cold one, for those interested.
Before we fly along the same roads back to the South Auckland.

A fitting end to a couple of weeks off work. This is my all-time favourite run, introduced to me by BJ many moons ago when I was driving my first MR2, an n.a. auto AW. That run taught me the value of decent brake pads (fried ones don't work).

Hoping to bring the SW. It's been 5 years since the last time my SW did this run. I'll do a test run first on Woodcocks. If it can handle Woodcocks it can handle the rampage to Raglan.

Looking forward to it Paul...! Can't wait...! :D

100+ MR2OCNZ runs and counting... When going hard, good rubber's your best protection against unwanted accidents. Buy good tyres!
When you're nearing the end of the drag-strip and you have no 'chute, you may as well keep your foot to the floor... Live life. There ain't no second pass.

Hey you could almost rat-rod that SW mate. Bumpers might look a bit funny though...

What's with the slicing device ahead of the bumper...? :?:

Arh, no. Even though it looked like it did at one point. Its also slow! But it is running without leaving a mess behind it. Which is more than Blue Car (#1 child) can say!! :P

Realistically we probably won't be back in the Drury area till probably 3 or 4. But should be in Raglan before lunch (1130?) So if you just wanted to do the run there, then head back instead of hanging out for lunch and a chat you could make it?? As an option.

Treat her to a ride in a real cool car and a really nice lunch Chris. Topped off with a glass of bubbles perhaps?

And Rodney, Paul's right mate, you'd get to Raglan and back no worries, just grab a quick pint then head back while the rest of us wait for lunch. It'd be good to see you again mate.

So did I. I'm hanging out for Saturday, can't wait!
