Lower North Island February Run to Akitio.

Post by optional »

Hi all,
since the January run is usually a non-starter that leaves me to organise something for February.
Here it is and it is a CRACKER!

Date: Sunday 3rd February 2019

Time: 10:00 am.

Meeting Place: Palmerston North Square Car Park

Route will be via Saddle Road to Woodville with a stop at the end of Napier Road, by the Cemetery to regroup, in case some have trouble getting out of the square. A stop in Woodville to meet any people from Masterton who don't like hills then on to Dannevirke. There may be some extras from Hawke's Bay meeting us there.
Here we leave the main road and the fun begins!
Out through Weber to Akitio for a bit of sea air. then back via Pongaroa to Pahiatua.
From there I will return via the Pahiatua Track. people can take whatever route they like from here.
This is a fantastic piece of road and is pretty good condition at the moment with only a few short stretches of minor road works.( At least it was when I was out there a couple of weeks back.) Traffic should be light too as the holidays are pretty much over by then.
Intended lunch break may be early, in Dannevirke, at the Forge Cafe in High St, as there is no cafe in either Akitio or Pongaroa that will be open. I will confirm this later.
Look forward to seeing you then
Keith and Sue.

Should be able to make it
Boosted cars are like hot women.
A little edgy, every guy wants one,
some guys can't handle them,
and if you throw a little alcohol in them they'll rock your world.

Some stars will have to align, but this is definitely on my radar. Fingers crossed!

Being away for the last 3 weekends. I need time at home for tidying up some jobs but I'll head to the square to say hi and torture my son with more cars!
