Haulin' To Hamptons - Toyota fest convoy/run 7am Sat 29th

Post by Mr-Paulio »

Okay guys,
I am almost certain I will be coming to the Toyota fest next weekend in the "Black Rat"
See link for the Event: http://mr2.org.nz/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=15172

Fancy a little back road bash on the way and showing up in a convoy of MR2's?? :D
Me two!! (Punny)
See link for the same run done previously: http://mr2.org.nz/phpbb3/viewtopic.php? ... it=hampton

So lets aim to meet at BP Drury service center on SH1 say 8:00? With an aim to hit the road at 8:30 on the dot!
I know some of you may have to travel a bit already to get there. But most people will be showing up at 8am at Hamptons so if we leave it too late we will struggle to park together.
On that note, who has the club flag??

Our back road excursion should be a brisk hour or so with some nice twisties. So we should arrive at Hampton downs for 9:30 in convoy.

Come out for a bit of a fun mini club run and a great day with other Toyota enthusiasts! Lets make it a good showing for the MR2 Club!! :D :D

Everyone happy with the times??

I'll have a spare seat if you can get to Drury and back? Will probably have to leave Hampton Downs at around 2-3pm due to other commitments also.

The Red Thing is good to go Paul.

Goes like a train and corners like it's on rails.

Even managed to find a suitable parking spot for it this morning.

See you at BP. 8)

I'm looking forward to this, unfortunately, one of my coolant hoses is still taped up! so I think it's wise to miss the twisties.....but maybe I can meet you guys around 9.30am ish @ the gates?

If anyone from the shore is heading later & wants to drive down together let me know.

Bugger.

Maybe we need to get there a whole lot earlier to secure some parking together in the general Show n Shine area?

I've been thinking it would actually make more sense for us to ALL meet at BP at 7am and leave there by 7:30. The track fellas go straight to Hamptons while the rest of us take the back roads there. Then we'd get there by about 8:30 in time to get a decent enough parking spot together. And in time to watch the first track session that a lot of our guys (including my son Isaac) will be doing.

What do you think, should we do that? Meet at BP at 7am...? I think it would be a good idea.

And one more thing: if you want to park inside as a group, register for Show n Shine, else you might find yourself parking outside the gates!

Last thing: have we found the banner?

Yes agreed! Sorry guys I though anyone could just go and park up. We really do need to all register for the show and shine (it's free) to even get in the gates and all be together. Don't worry you car won't look worse than mine! We don't want to be all stuck outside!!

And yes let's all show up around the same time. We can still do the mini rub while the others get our spot secured. I'm sure we won't be far behind.
So 7am at BP Drury guys!
