....And I'll 2nd Jim's opinion regards the Gen 3 3SGTE SW motors. SWeet as.
I still think its good practice to keep the oil level approx 1/2 litre over full and check often. Also running a high spec synthetic helps with engine lubrication. Not sure why anyone would run anything less than full synthetic these days unless it burns/leaks a heap or is a diesel.

Agreed, on both counts. 1/2 litre over-full when on a track. And run a decent fully synthetic oil all the time. Certainly helps the engine, and lasts longer too, which makes up for the extra cost. I'm running Motul in everything now, available from NST at a good price to Club Members. Love it.

At the beginning of this thread you suggested a visit to the Coach House museum--note this is not a car museum (there is a Model T Ford) but mainly an agricultural machinery museum from horsedrawn (and driven) to tractors. There is a private car museum (with some racing cars) in the Fielding area we have visited last year--Keith knows the details.

Sadly, yes. It hit a wee speed-bump. But I'm sure MikeP and Olaf will have things under control.

Does anyone know if Tats (Russki) still around to do work on MR2s? I need the head gasket done on my other MR2.

I'm not sure if she is working on them herself anymore, I will ask as I think she trusts a local mechanic here in Levin with her mr2s

Edit: Yes, she is too busy to even work on her own cars! She recommends Steve Gross at Ross McColl Autoservices on Totara St in Levin. I can also recommend Justin from TMS Racing in Paraparaumu or Ray Hartley from Ray Hartley Motors in Welly
