Lower North Run to Nationals 23/11/19

Postby ClanFever » Tue Oct 08, 2019 4:05 pm

The Lower North run to Nationals - if you're not going to be staying locally around the Manawatu, the plan is as follows:

Meet at the Plimmerton Weigh Station before 530am for a 530am departure. I will be in Levin that morning, so designate a leader to:

Meet at BP Levin for an 645am departure. I will see you guys here at the BP. The above people should start arriving at 630am which is enough time to get some cheaper fuel, get some fuel cans filled if needed, as well as coffee and a muffin if you require it.

Wairarapa people (Gary and co) if you're coming, there's no point (unless you want a long drive) in back tracking to convoy with us. I therefor propose you meet at the Masterton Pak n Save Carpark (south end near the pumps) before 615am for a 615am departure to make it to Fielding via the Saddle Track. If Gary thinks of a better idea, he'll post it below and I'll edit this post.

I will see you guys then!

Pahiatua track would probably be better, less trucks and the road isn’t as chewed up

No shit, when I looked up what was fastest, Google recommended Saddle Road - it is now recommending Pahiatua track. Strange. It looks like it'll take the same amount of time - but may be more fun and yeah, less trucks. I'll let the Wairarapa people decide on the day

I thought the event was a 9am start - looks to be gates open at 730am and track users need to be there by 8am. So I've knocked back all the times by 1 hour and 15 minutes. Please take this into consideration :)
