MR2OCNZ How To - Event / Run / Burger Night

Post by ClanFever »

Some helpful steps when creating a run, please follow in order to make sure you maximise your turnout!

1. Make a Plan with a description of what you will be doing and follow the below format. Any other details can be in a paragraph above or below

Where: E.G. Meet at Victoria park

Where to: 70km drive around the port hills finishing up at godley head carpark.

When: E.G. 10am leave at 10:30am 17 march 2020

Link to code of conduct viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7967

2. Post plan to Forum.

3. Notify Communications Officer (simonaszakra) + All ACs + Events – (Your + Close Regions) via bulk email option on the forum.

Communications Officer:

1. Create Facebook event (on MR2OCNZ FB Page)

2. Create an awesome looking banner using the template photoshop file. (picture of an old run with current event details slapped on top)3. Share to related FB pages (MR2OCNZ, MR2OCNZ Social + Advice, Local Crew Group, Related car club groups)

Ongoing:

Share event again, closer to time, keep thread updated and let Communication Office + All Regions you notified of any major updates (especially if start date/time/location changes) - the Facebook event as well as the Forum event needs to be updated to show the changes

Nice, Olaf. 8)

I'd like to add that I used to collect names and cell phone numbers of run attendees when they signed in before leaving the meeting point. (Handy if you lose anyone on the way). Then I would call or txt people a couple of weeks before the next run to ask if they wanted to come. A personal one-on-one gets a great response, can't beat it. Takes time but if you really want to have a blast and get a buzz from all those smiling faces (and make some new friends) it's well worth the effort.

100+ MR2OCNZ runs and counting... When going hard, good rubber's your best protection against unwanted accidents. Buy good tyres!
When you're nearing the end of the drag-strip and you have no 'chute, you may as well keep your foot to the floor... Live life. There ain't no second pass.
