Double Fun Run For Lower North

Hey guys

Two events for us to dip our feet back into going out and seeing other MR2 loving guys and gals!

11th Of June (Thursday) and 14th of June (Sunday, date + details to be confirmed by Gary, a BBQ in the Wairarapa)

For the 11th of June event, it is a Burger meet at Burger Fuel Kapiti, 730pm to at least 830pm. Depending on turn out and peoples moods, we may go on a mini cruise for a photo shoot or similar.

Will also start a new Fun Run series championship. Similar to the previous Challenge series, attendance and challenges will net you points, with the winner getting... a pat on the back? No but seriously, we'll have to find a decent prize to make it worthwhile. A trophy could be on the cards as before, or even a monetary reward or similar. Will discuss with the other ACs from these parts.

Meeting at the Pack N Save carpark in Masterton at 10.30am. Grab a coffee from over the the road, then we are off on the Mauriceville, Dreyers Rock Road and Whangaehue Valley loop to Te Ore Ore and back to Masterton for a BYO BBQ at 70a Harley street in Masterton.
Run is nice twisty roads, little traffic and a 60km loop.
As we are limited to 100 people I will have two BBQ's available :D

Burger Fuel are happy to have us, and would prefer us to park over outside Mitre 10 (where we were probably going to park anyway) - however it is now looking like it could be very nasty weather. I'll make the call on Thursday morning if we postpone - it will simply be till the next Thursday, until we get one without the crap weather! - Olaf

Spreadsheet live for Fun Run Series tracking, with actual prize money values for the winners. Happy to fund the prizes myself, although any donations towards funding the prizes appreciated :lol: :lol:

I'll continue to add to it. The format and way it runs may differ per year, may be no monetary prizes next season, but why not...

I would love to run it for a calendar year, so it may run until Xmas 2021 at this stage. Or even AGM to AGM. Will see how it goes...

No challenge for my Burger Meet this Thursday. Gary may have a challenge on Sunday. There will be challenges at the Dyno Run in August

It was a good fun night! Wasn't tooooo cold, and we had about 50 cars (only a few MR2s) but everyone was well behaved and there was some cool cars to look at, from flash 50K BMWs to Optimistic $500 Toyotas, it's so great that everyone can get together and have some good yarns. These Burger Nights definitely bring out a different type of crowd to the normal Daytime Weekend event, so I would love to keep doing both, and mix it up as much as possible. Here are some terrible shots + a better one from Michael, if anyone got anything better, post em up. :mrgreen: :mrgreen:
