Weather looking a bit wet ATM. But not terrible.
(Unlike yesterday, we were flooded and blocked in for a few hours!)
I'm thinking a plan B might be we just jet down the motorway if its wet, to the event. And could do a backroad run back to South Auckland if its drier later on. πŸ€”
Either way we still all enjoy the event and get to show up in a convoy of MR2s 😁😁

Who would be keen for a plan B option also if it came to it?
We can hopefully make a better judgement call Saturday night. So check in here to get an update.

I'm pretty much in rain or shine this weekend. Just expect some colourful green and purple waves on the ground whenever we park.

But yeah keen either way, would be awesome to get out and about this weekend.

Hey Mike, as far as I can see the event is still on. https://www.facebook.com/54665038912617 ... 826047330/
The weather looks better tomorrow than today for sure.
Just a few light showers.

So I though worst case we just meet around 9am and zip up the motorway from about 9:30, as the backroads take along time to dry and probably not ideal if slippery.
Maybe on the way home it will be drier?
If not at least we all get out and get a little bit of a drive still! :D

The back roads are pretty good in the wet Paul, they don't have the oil on them that suburban ones do. You just need to watch out for green mossy patches, leaves and mud in the wet. My problem is I don't yet have a demister so I can't see where I'm going in the wet (SW). And the AW isn't something you even want to get wet... Have fun!

I have the same problem, plus a lot harder to get traction these days for my AW!
Plenty of green roads where I am. Was still wet yesterday at 2pm out here and it didn't rain all day. A lot of flooding and shade/shelter so the roads just aren't drying.
Plus I didn't want to make it iffy or less fun for the other drivers. But i think we can call whether its mway or backroads in the morning when we meet? Either way I think we are on at this stage :D

It really isn't! Typical I get both my cars running now in winter
Oh well, we will still have a fun quick drive anyway. And I'll work on something else for when the weather plays ball! :D

+1, don't have AC and haven't put that heater core in yet, will probably not be great. But it's usually okay once it takes 10-15 mins to clear the first time.

I think I have plugged all the leaks (for now) in the ADub so should be bringing that! :D :D

All set for meeting at Drury BP on the motorway at 9am. We will leave from there about 930ish or when everyone is ready. Let's make a call at the time as to whether we take some back roads or the safer option to Hampton downs via the motorway.

Look forward to seeing you all and getting out in the cars again!! :D :D
