Wellington Fun Run 22/11/20

Been a while since we did a proper, Sunday event in Wellington.

Hard to keep the convoy together with Sunday traffic in the urban environment, so will look to pinpoint positions as required throughout the day, will also have to look into using Glympse or similar for the first time, so you can have a GPS read out of my location!

To make it a little easier, lets meet up post lunch at 1:00pm - 1:30pm at the back of Warehouse Porirua carpark, perhaps even into the Whitireia carpark if there is room for us, it's just across the road. Look for some Toyota cars, park by us...

Depending on the weather we may go for a photoshoot nearby at Whitireia park, followed by a drive, there are a few options open to us and would again depend on weather, what events will be on and what everyone is craving. Around the bays is a good one, so is over the Haywards, Moonshine road and out to Eastbourne, for a coffee. At least this means you guys can book the day in

Will see you guys this Sunday, it's an odd time of year and an odd year. In Wellington it's very hard to keep a convoy together, so I'll pick some landmarks we can meet at if we get separated. Sorry no major events or anything this meet. We are meeting at the back end of The Warehouse In Porirua from 1pm

Am thinking at 1:30pm we head north out of Porirua, turning right at the Paremata Roundabout. We can then shoot through to Pauatahanui, taking a left at the roundabout towards Gray's Road. We'll stop in at Groundup Cafe for a snack/coffee (being we're meeting later in the day, you guys should have already had brunch/lunch)

After this we should head out along Gray's Road, and pull into the carpark at the Camborne Walkway by Jetski Lane, we can take some photos with the inlet as the backdrop. We'll probably be there at approx 2:30pm and hang around until we get bored.

We can then head out to Plimmerton, and take a right at Airlie Road. We'll then shoot along this road and make our way to the graveyard but not get onto SH1, we'll turn around and head back down Airlie Road the other way. We'll then take a right back out onto Moana Rd, head along until we hit the Marae and turn around, and find some parks either here, or further along depending on what is available. We'll take in the views, talk some shit and then we can all head off home.

If you guys can get familiar with that route and plan ahead if we get separated, the idea would be to enjoy the drives even if we lose each other, but meet back up again

Celica club are doing a run out to Wainui Coast road Sunday as well, they are meeting 11am at the Petone Coffee Cart at the Allied Petrol station, and then they will come and join our run. I Can't make their run unfortunately, but I think it would be cool if a couple MR2s can make it those ways

Cant believe this was already 8 days ago! It was a great day out. Glad we did this last Sunday as there was flooding everywhere we went yesterday. A couple Celicas and a weird Carina thing also joined us. A few new faces and a good smoothie from ground up!
