There isn't too many active members from that region, as far as I understand

In saying that, why not put up your own event, maybe with the help of Thomas (tw2 on the forum) and see if you can draw them out of the woodwork? You could also contact both Keith's or Nathan (https://mr2.org.nz/the-club for full list of ACs)

Follow this guide viewtopic.php?f=4&t=15662 and with the Facebook reach, there might be some new comers and you can really get the area booming

I'd not be against putting up an AC role for that region as presently there is a spot for each of the surrounding regions but not one quite for the Taupo/Rotorua region. This looks to be because of the lack of members in that area and being able to get to one of the surrounding regions and back within a day. Again, that can easily change if the members turn up!

Let us know (show us with photos!) how you get on if you run an event. If you give it a good 4-8 week window before hand, I'm sure some cars will turn up. Don't forget to open the invite to other Toyotas, Mid Engine car owners and other vehicle enthusiasts as this can help bump up numbers for an awesome run.

Hi James

Nice to see you on the Forum again. What Olaf says is absolutely right but dont write off a good burger night either to bring people out of the woodwork. If you stage it right at a good venue you will get a few keen ones along and very often other people will come to participate too. I mean who doesnt like eating burgers.

Get a venue like Burgerfuel or similar always good if parking is close and if there is a choice of food and post it on the forum.Copy in Simon so he can make a facebook event.Share it on your facebook page and all you need to do is turn up and eat burgers. People can also bring friends along to it as well

Its worth a go and a lot of fun and you get inquiries from public as well in most case when they see the cars there. Just a suggestion

I have thought about runs near taupo a few times from Hamilton. The main problem is most people will be starting in Hamilton or nearby and it would require a lot of extra driving by yourself to get somewhere near the beginning or end to go home again.

I do come to taupo every so often. Do you have any idea how many people might be interested in the area?
