MANAWATU JULY RUN.
1st August 2021
Ok, Ok, I know it is not actually in July but it is close enough, surely. I need to give people some time to organise themselves.
Meeting place will be :
Railway Station in Palmerston North
Meeting Time will be 10:15 for a 10:30 start..
There is plenty of parking here and I am mindfull of the confusion the last time we met in the Square and want to avoid a repeat.
The object of the run is to take a look at a historic site in Whanganui; the Durie St Elevator. I bet a lot of you did not even know this existed, but it is one of the oldest public elevators in NZ., and has recently been done up. Well worth a visit I think, and don't expect a straight run either, Ross and I will find some nice MR2 type roads to get from Palmy to Whanganui. I am not sure about a lunch venue yet. More on that later.
Stop Press.
Lunch is booked at Caroline's Boat House, on the banks of the Whanganui River. Booked for 1:00 pm.
