Fri 18th-Sun 20th March 2005 - National Motor Show, Hamilton
We need your cars for this Motorshow at Mystery Creek Events Centre, Hamilton. I have booked the same awesome spot as last time for our Club Stand.
Three of us in the club are having birthdays this weekend , Lesley (Auntie) and I are two of them! GAMOVR is the 3rd one.
So we're having a dinner on the Sat night as well. Watch out Hamilton!
Let me know by Feb if you'd like to display your MR2 so I can organise a free entry tickets and a roster. Even if you can do just one day that would be great. You'll get a chance to spend some time looking around the show. There are all sorts of events going on like burnouts too. I'll organise a tent and a form for you to fill in about your MR2. Bring some photos of events or what you've done to your car.
Cheers

Hello,
Is it possible to get a spot inside the building?
Last time you guys were outdoors.... being indoors will let people appreciate the hours we spend polishing the cars a bit more.
If cost is an issue lets see if we can get people to "make some donations" ---- and don't we already have a few sponsors? We can have all their boards displayed too.....
Looks a bit commercial -- but if it gives us what we want then why not????

The only thing with having the cars inside is that they would probably have to stay there for the whole three days. With the outside spot, people can take their cars away at the end of each day. Great idea though - I'll find out for sure for you next week.

With some people only being able to leave their cars in the show for a day or two, I have decided to leave the outside area booked for our display.
I think this would be more feasible, especially as Mystery Creek Events Centre is about 15kms out of Hamilton. At least we will be able to take our cars back to town at the end of each day.
The dinner will be held on Saturday 19th at Hamilton Workingmen's Club at 45 Commerce St, Frankton. They have a big carpark there, so lots of parking for us. Nearest quieter Motels are close to my place near the Waikato Rugby Stadium down Tristram and Abbotsford Streets. Members and families not showing their cars are also welcome for the dinner.
Please PM me your car's details by 12th Feb so I can organise your free ticket for the day(s) you are showing your car. Or phone (07) 834 2124 A/H (Don't get confused if you get our voicemail as we run a business from home). I need numbers for the dinner by Feb 28.

I'm endeavouring to contact Marianne and Brett about the possibility of utilising a nearby corner of the public carpark for people arriving during the day. So far their business keeps them pretty busy - but I'm hoping to hear back in time to organise a group down to support them.mr2boy_7 wrote:im interested in coming, will there be a stand to park all the club onwers cars, what are the costs for the day im also into the dinner thing, am i to late for the bookings
As far as costs go, we MAY be able to get discounted tickets - another question for Marianne and Brett, as I believe they mentioned this possibility.

Well have you finalised anything yet??Dennis th'Menace wrote:A convoy is what I'm trying to put together, but I need to know what we'll be dealing with when we get there before I can finalise the details
Or else lets meet like last time Westgate/ Royal Oak Observatory, etc and go on and spend the day there....... until it's dinner time.
I only plan to go there on Sat....... what do you think??
By the way my car will be on the road by Wednesday as the mechanic says... Gary Prom motors ...... just opposite the Royal Oak shell where you picked me and my bike up last run........ he better do a good job......
And then it's on to you for servicing ........

I'll go over details at Chris' Waikato run tomorrow and show map of location of stand to all attending. (I only got this finalised via mail today)Unfortunately we can only fit 6 cars on the stand each day as we only have 18m of frontage to play with. I also have a gazebo tent organised for shelter as 2/3 of our area may be tar seal, the rest grass.
The public car parking is not next to the stand this year. There is a bit of a walk to get there.
I'll talk to Olivia at the Waikato Events Centre of Monday to see if discounted tickets are available - of course if there are, I'd need money up front before the event, not on the day. But I can accept VISA or Mastercard through my business if the tickets are available then order them for you. The people showing off cars get free entry, of course a couple of hours of your time helping out on the stand is required in return Normal tickets for public are $12 per adult.
Final roster will be posted here on Monday evening. Show time each day is from 9am - 5pm each day.

Patience, young Ujwal, patience. I'll be discussing the show with Brett and Marianne tomorrow on the Waikato Run, and I'll post details after that.
And fingers crossed for your clutch.
