Few noticable mods like intake filter, wires and strut bar. Strange rust marks on harware like its lived by the beach.

Re: Reubans blue blue blue
I did say fairlystockness to me this is virtually untouched, i'll have to take some pics of my other engine bay for comparison, all unnessary's gone (diagnostic plug, map sensor, fuse box in boot ect), greddy i/c, stainless d/p, rangi pod filter pipe, silicone hoses i even got of my arse and pulled the loom to bits at one point to re-route a lot of it out of site.
It's not as rust free as your one i saw, but bloody tidy compared to the black one when i got it, i think most of the rust is from the last year living outside at chris's.
Gives me some simple (see cheap) things i can fix up over time anyway. Might just try fobbing off that X-brace and see what it does.

Yea it won't take much to tidy the bay up. Bit of time removing some parts and painting will knock it into shape. How does the interior look?

Re: Reubans blue blue blue
I just have to mention, after about 8 hours of polishing, we ran out of time to be tidying up the engine bay & interior
But if Reuban wants it done, he knows where I am.

Still sulking in the corner... its been two weeks without my baby...
Superb job Reuban & Brae have done on her... continue the good work.
If you want any parts bead blasted, before painting them let me know, it would be my pleasure to blast them for you.
was toying about doing it to the cusco strut bar mounts.
oh yea I think I still have the other air filer here for her. I don't remember putting it in the boot with the other goodies.

Re: Reubans blue blue blue
I'll definitly take you up on that one Chris, just under her swapping front sway bar links at the mo'.
Just spotted all the aftermarket caster arms and the toms brace . put that bracket into the bumper on the l/h side and pulled it in a bit tighter too.
Jack the back up next see if i can spot where that oil leak is coming from

Re: Reubans blue blue blue
Looks like you have some work ahead to polish up the interior. Any idea if the car was fitted with airbags?

Put the chassis code into http://www.toyodiy.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, go to Powertrain/chassis, then steering wheel. I think diagram 2 will say whether it had an airbags. If it did it will show a price. If not it should say not applicable.
Something like this http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_1996_T ... 504.2.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Reubans blue blue blue
Depends on the production year if GTS had bags or not. Have a look in the frunk to see if you have any yellow trunking running to the sensors by radiator. Also have some under dash behind steering column which is easy enough to spot. Try turning on your idiot lights on dash to see if you can see the airbag light come up. Only problem with this is if you have and it doesn't work the PO would have pulled the bulb.
Regardless, at over $1000/bag you wouldn't replace. Stateside they install Celica steering wheels as they look like a rev 5 and came with bags. Might be an option if you decide to restore to stock.

Re: Reubans blue blue blue
naa no airbag light and no yellow trunking in the frunk or by the radiator. so hopefully no airbag from factory. if it had them shouldnt they nail it on a warrant? i suppose they wouldn't know though.
