Looks like a good drive, not bad on fuel.
Are those the red seats you had just new covers or are they other seats?

No ,they are the original mr2 seats. I brought some custom leather seat covers on ebay . i had to remove the fabric covers and re....ter [spelling]the new covers on.
The red ones are now deck chairs.

just a footnote , on the way up we went via the Pyes Pa route between Tauranga and Rotorua. A excellent little drive with some great scenery.

This labour weekend ,went for a quick Coast to Coast .This time to Flat Point, another great drive ,which I would recommend .However the last 1/2hr is gravel and in all honesty i would probably turn around at that point.
I left early on sunday morning and had very little traffic ,which was prefect. With an awesome drive over the hill.
To top off the weekend on the monday , i spied Olaf leaving town in Apexed . It was great to finally see the car ripping along in all its glory. Well done !!!

Amazing photos, and very nice looking car! The fuel economy is great a 2017 civic gets 6.4L/100km so for such an old car under 8L is impressive.

Yeah, on one of my road trips I managed 8.7L/100km, and it's turbocharged. I do have a Link G4 and a wideband though :D . My hatch does 6.2L/100km, and that's built in 1997.

P.S regarding fuel economy ,I don't know what other people are getting for their n/a's ,but I have fitted iridium spark plugs .My Toms style snorkel feeds an air box direct via ducting to a pod filter ( just like a Honda S2000 ) so no ambient engine bay temperature .i have found the mid range pick up is more responsive.

After departing with my Gen 4, I was a little to say the least underwhelmed with the handling of my Gen 1.The black one [gen 4] sat on the road and handled better and it only had 205's on the rear. So fueled by this .I was on the improvement drive.
I fitted a gen2+ sub frame and springs were next.
On advice from Phill, i decided to invest in some coilovers and go the whole hog.
Ben from Masterton sold his white turbo recently and i noticed, he had a set of B C gold coilovers for sale. They were manufactured in 2013 and in mint condition and had very little use. They came with 5 and 8 kg springs.
I installing them with a 30mm drop and at this stage have set the dampering to half way.
On our Xmas run over the hill it would make an ideal opportunity to test out my new purchase.
What a transformation, it was like driving a different car. The steering was precise and you could go into a corner faster and steer straight out of it with no under steer at all.
Driving around the burbs is firmer, but importantly not uncomfortable .I have yet to experiment with the settings.
If anyone is thinking of investing in some, I couldnt recommend them high enough.

You can see the intake to the cold air box ,minus the ducting.
