Did you get the ACIS butterfly installed? How does it drive compared to other 3VZ powered cars?

Turns out it had an ACIS flap but the vac lines weren't hooked up at all. Matched the vacuum lines on the other car.
Quite hard to compare with the other car since it's a heavy auto slushbox. The MR2 feels quicker but thats mostly due to weight. Camry is definitely more linear in power delivery whereas the MR2 has nothing until about 4500

Reckon you can change the thread title to something with Widebody + 3VZ?

Cool Car. Its a process of evolution, just making it how you want it.

Have you had it on the dyno? Do you have a dyno sheet for it?

Slowly getting there. Need to get engine to stock form before I start tinkering more. Hasn't been on a dyno. Will worry about the car once exams are over on Wednesday and I return to Wellington.

Regardless, car still sounds beautiful. Need to figure out the best way to mount the rear number plate without it rattling on the rear bumper though

This may or may not work in your situation but I have used either a bike inner tube cut and wedged under the plate to stop it rattling or bubble wrap but this was on my EE90 Corolla and EP81 Starlet respectively.

I was going to ask this too. Here is a test: have a look at where the ACIS actuator sits with the engine turned off. Then start the engine. Have another look at where the ACIS actuator sits. Tell us if it moves or not.

It's rattling on the left side edge against the flat of the bumper. The plate itself has been bent just to fit the cutout. I may just bend it a bit more and try get some rubber washers on the mounts and hopefully all is well

Yeah our NZ plates don't quite fit the JDM bumpers. Mine on the stock bumper was somehow installed to fit in the space very tight without any bending.

Yeah, mine is the same. It's a very tight fit with very little bending.

Did not move. Was the case in both cars. I assumed the Camry hadn't ever been tinkered with since it hadn't even been serviced in 80,000kms and mirrored it onto the MR2

This is the operation of the valve for the 3VZ. It's at the bottom of the link I posted in your thread about issues you were having so you've probably already seen it.

It's fine for the idling case. Difficult to know for the other situations though. At a guess I'd say it's not closing the flap under 3900rpm at 60%+ throttle

Here's a test, run the car up through the revs at WOT while driving with the vacuum port disconnected, then run it with the vacuum port connected, then run it with vacuum port disconnected and actuator always held open and then held closed.
See what sort of feel you get from the engine with it open or closed throughout the whole rev range. This might help diagnose any problems.

Try it with the Camry too to compare any changes. I know the Camry is Auto and heavy but you should notice difference and be able to compare similar feelings in power and torque.
