What's the tyre-to-strut clearance like on the rear? I only ask because the rears appear to stick out just a tad too far. Or perhaps it's just adding more stability to the rear in the corners.
The reason I went with the +29 over the +35 wheel (only 3 options in 17x9) was the lip size. Smaller 38mm front lip and larger 56mm rear lip. Having both lips the same would look silly. Fits fine with camber and a folding the lip. I'll adjust as required.

Looks mad!! All those months ago you told me that you had something special coming, you weren't lying!
You have a bit more stretch than I do on the fronts having 8" wide as opposed to my 7.5".
I love the theme of keeping everything to one brand. I didn't even know Advan make lug nuts! I love my wheel stickers too.
Looking forward to that write up on rolling the guards

8" +35 is an easier fitment but with these wheels going 8 and 9 was the best way. Yeah the fronts do have more stretch than yours which is OK but could have done with a wider tire. Yokohama Wheel make quite a few products that aren't wheels. Check out Yokohamawheel.jp and use Chrome to translate some bits. Don't worry, I didn't pay full price of what they quote for wheels and wheel parts.

Tell me how you find the Adrenalin 003 performance. The sizes are the exact one that I'm looking at fitting. 215 front and 245 at the rear.

Re: GDII's 1990 G-Limited
Will do but as my car has far less power than yours I can only say what it's like under braking and cornering. So far they seem to grip better than the almost worn out T1Rs but as they are a larger diameter power from the 3SGE will struggle to get any wheel spin out of them in tight off camber corners. No LSD either.chief1eye wrote:Tell me how you find the Adrenalin 003 performance. The sizes are the exact one that I'm looking at fitting. 215 front and 245 at the rear.

Re: GDII's 1990 G-Limited
I had decided before I drove the car anywhere I would fold the lip up on the rear guards to stop them from chewing my new tyres.
Easy to do with a heat gun to soften the paint to help stop cracking and a rubber mallet to bend it all up out of the way.
Just bash it and fold it up bit by bit along the guard so you don't crack the paint from one bit hit.
Before
After. It's not obvious at all looking from the outside of the guard which is nice.
Took about 10min each side and I didn't fully fold it up. Will put some underbody sealer in the gap to help protect it.
I took it for a test drive over some known roads that could potentially cause rubbing but nothing happened which is great. I'm not too sure what my camber settings are but they are maxed out for what you can do with stock suspension and lowering springs. This helps the tyre clear the guard with the 9"+29 offset.

Re: GDII's 1990 G-Limited
Damn that's a good looking car. The Advans really, really set it off. Stock body, late model front lip, lowered, wheels. Done.
So many SW's end up looking like a dogs breakfast because people put bodykits on them, spending thousands and then put cheap wheels on them. Save the bodykit cash and get some sweet Japanese made wheels

Re: GDII's 1990 G-Limited
Yes exactly. I've always been a fan of stock bodied cars but some kits can look good if done properly. Why ruin something a clever designer has spent years thinking about when there is nothing wrong with it. The lip is actually an aftermarket G-Brand but a late model lip would do the same thing.Alsw20 wrote:Damn that's a good looking car. The Advans really, really set it off. Very nice wheels
well done on picking the off sets.
Time to sort a little bit more power (engine ) and you might be able to keep up with the AWs on a club run .....

Re: GDII's 1990 G-Limited
I spent quite a bit of time researching what size and offset would fit. I didn't expect the rears to fit so well with the 245s but I think the camber that was already set like this from the last wheel alignment helped with that.*84vvt wrote:Very nice wheels

I can keep up fine with the AW you just need to not have me as a passenger so yours can keep up with the NA SWs!
