Ezi lip side skirts
17" wheels wrapped with Nankang NS20s
"Hot House Holden Green" Paint work, Painted before my ownership
MRS front midship Badge to replace the OEM badge
Lowered on TRD springs

Its been a while since ive updated so i thought id share what ive been working on.

So exhaust as been made, was fun making my first exhaust, all 3" Stainless Steel 304 Grade, 3" ebay downpipe followed by one of a kind exhausted, used AdrenlinR resonator and one muffler, i was surprised by how quiet it was, expected it to be way louder.

Scored a set of Greddy Rep side skirts so im in the process of fitting those. New lip and Wing on the way from Camposites, USA.

Finally got round to fitting my gated sump, hopefully this will help the motor out around the track. Speaking of track days, blew a braided coolant hose under the turbo on the last day so thats now been repaired, thanks to AA for the free tow home! (first and hopefully the last tow truck experience lol)

Hey Jim. Toyota fest was this year hahaha.
Good to meet you and see your car. The sump is an OBX aluminium gated sump. I brought it from Ross earlier this year but only just got around to fitting it now. But noticed an area it hasn't sealed so will take it back off this weekend and fix it.

Its been a long time since i have done an update on here, where do i start......hmm....

The current state of my mr2 is not a happy one, since late April this year my turbo mr2 has become turbo less, after blowing the ceramic turbine wheel out the back of my exhaust whilst on my second lap for the day at Hampton Downs, what an expensive track day that was, I knew it was time to start upgrading what I can. I had a CT20b sitting on the shelf waiting for a rebuild and wanted to run an external waste-gate to get better control of boost levels.
Rung up Steve Murch to get a quote for rebuilding the 20b, whilst that was off for repairs i decided i was gonna start making my own manifold, searched high and low for the flanges, after not being able to find them i turned to a good mate and a fellow two owner who was able to whip me up some drawings which i had sent off and a couple weeks later i got back the required flanges, after getting all the pipe it was time to start. Finding time where i could, i slowly but surely started planing how to keep it twin scroll and have room for waste-gate ports, eventually i had it all planned out and it was time to wrap my head around just how i was gonna weld up all the joins without boxing myself into a corner. At this point in time i have just started to re assemble the pieces and make it look like a manifold once again.

When i got home from the track i pulled the turbo out to discover the extent of the damage to the turbo.

Now the nice new shiny things, the fresh and upgraded CT20b built to handle a modest 20Psi which is more than enough for me and my car at this stage of the build.
The start of the manifold build, checking the templates for the flanges before getting them cut, the flanges are made from stainless steel 16mm for the head and 12mm for the turbo flange. The manifold is made from heavy duty steam pipe brought from Sinco, this also means there is a bit of weight gain, about 4kgs heavier than oem manifold.

The manifold is quite large due to the way its gotta flow and the chosen materials. The turbo fits just, i tired to keep oem placement to make it easier for myself but i wasn't quite able to achieve this, the turbo sits slightly towards the passenger side and slightly further to the front of the car. the same downpipe can still be used and bolts to my exhaust, so that's one less thing ill have to re-make. It just clears the heat shield on the firewall, so i will have to cut some of it away so i can add an intake pipe once its ready.

Hopefully the Green Two will be back on the road early next year and all certified for the long journey down to Cromwell for Toyota-Fest 2020, because i knew the car would need a cert for the waste-gate i knew it was time to finally buy the car some better suspension in the form of coil-overs, the car is now fitted on BC Golds, that will be featured in another post later, cant wait to see how they go on the track and club runs in the future,

Until the next update..... keep up to date on my Instagram page -----> @that_green_sw20

I didn't realise that ceramic fun was why you're rebuilding. Got power goals?

Yip. Was a shock to see the wheel gone that was for sure. Never seen that happen before. But knew how brittle they are.

I'd like to get 300whp. According to KO Racing all I need is a better flowing turbo. 300whp is where the fuel system starts to run out.
