I just cracked 99,000km in this MR2. I bought it at 156,000km at 18 years old, it is now almost 29 years old with 255,000km and counting. The original engine only made it to 230,000km before burning 1 litre of oil per 300km so I replaced it with a $200 engine with 380,000km. This engine now has 400,000km on it. Still a bit smokey but far less oil consumption.

This my not be the OG speedo but I changed it to read what the JDM 180kph speedo read when I swapped it out to this NZDM one.

You know how a feel about V6 swaps.....

I replaced a few seals when I swapped it in but I didn't do the oil pump. Silly me coz now it leaks. I've also got a distributor leak which I'm just needing an O ring of the main mount rather than the internal part.

Yeah some new rings and a bore hone would make it better but that involves ripping apart the engine and by the time I'm done a GEN4 swap would have cost the same. And I'd still have a slow old GEN2 3SGE.

I'm also getting a fair amount of blow by as there is oil leaking from the vent hose on the valve cover that goes to the throttle body. A catch can would help that I think.

It would help the leak but not the actual blow by as that is a mechanical seal issue.

Yes that is correct. It was more the leak from the hose I want to reduce/stop. Blow by can't be fixed or even removed even from a healthy engine. Just reduced.
I'd like to get a catch can but then it won't look OEM.

This may or may not be the reason the GEN4 3SGTE swap is on hold. This beast that I designed is coming along nicely. Not too long to go now before it's finished enough to move in. Thanks to a few people in the club for helping with some parts of the build, it's been a big help.

Garage door looks way to small :-P
Boosted cars are like hot women.
A little edgy, every guy wants one,
some guys can't handle them,
and if you throw a little alcohol in them they'll rock your world.

You would say that. Part of its hiding behind the skip bin. Garage is 6x6m internal.

A MASSIVE thank you Joel/Hive Posters for this epic custom work of my car in its current format. He got the brakes, wheels, tyres and exhaust just right.
