Did a small road trip with Baden and his Mr-s.
Went up to New Plymouth and had a photo op at Patea's old freezing works. Closed in 1982.Also visited the Holden car Museum at hillsborugh.
Didnt get any photos, but well worth a detour. Over 40 Holdens on display, a real trip down memory lane.
Following day we drove the Surf highway back to Hawera. Excellent drive with very little traffic.
Hit Levin at 3:30pm enough said.

Doubt you drove back to Hawea as that would be a long detour.

Love the pics Brian. Inspiring. 8)

Out of interest, what size are the rims, and the tyres, and what kind of suspension are you running?

And how did it handle the pot-holes and bumps around the East Cape that everyone talks about?

Cheers.

Hi Charlie,
Thanks, we were hoping you all would catch up to us at Tokomaru, but as we found it wasn't to be. I think we arrived around 5pm.?
I have fitted and certified bc gold coilovers with 5 and 8 kg springs. For the trip with Janet I set the recoil to 5 clicks up from the softest at the front and 8 clicks at the rear. They are set to around 30 mm drop. So it was pretty comfortable for Janet.( along the way we played with different settings).
I initially had them fitted to my gen one, n/a and what a difference they made
There was only one bridge where we had a big jolt.
The mags are 17" 7.5 wide (square I'm afraid) et 45
The rears are eagle f1 asymmetric 245/40/17 . The fronts are hankook ventus prime 3 215/40/17.
There is no scrubbing from the tyres ,but they aren't as flush as they should be,but they fit nicely. I don't push the car hard ,unless someone is going tooooo slow.
Cheers

A bridge at the bottom of a big gully on a left-hand bend? If it's the one I'm thinking of it's a heck of a jolt!

And thanks for the info mate, appreciated. Glad you had a good trip. :D
Keep those photos coming.
